Getting about abit

Danny is doing really well although he does have conjunctivitas at the minute which is really bugging him as well as a cold. Tom too has had it, they came down with it together. Danny is now cruising well and bum shuffling everywhere. Yesterday I only nipped to fetch a towel, when I got back I could see the vent tubing but NO danny. He was not attached to his vent anymore as he had shuffled right back to his push chair but the vent didn’t alarm because of his speaking valve. He is so cool at the minute but I think his consultant needs to have a stern word and tell him he needs to stay on his vent!!.

He stayed at the hospital today because his nurse thought that would be best as he was unwell in the night and required a wiff of oxygen but to be honest he has been fine all day so didn’t really need to be there. Apparently he is alot better tonight.

I learned how to change Dan’s gastrostomy tube today, I have seen it so many times now, it was easy. Last week his jej came out which was a nightmare. He was covered in poo and we were so busy thinking how on earth are we gonna get him undressed and in the bath with out getting it all over him that we pick him up, his tube was caught between the sofa cushions and it just popped out. It was not a good day so now I detach the tube or tye it up. I also learned how to put his humidifier together as he is allowed home for 2 days and 2 nights at christmas.

Tom will be the big 4 on friday, he is very excited so we are taking him away as a treat with some friends and it is my birthday the following Friday but I think I’ll give it a miss if Tom will let me as he is very excited about mine too. We have got him a big cake from one of Rob’s colleagues, his mother has a cake business. I can’t believe our little baby boy is growing up.
