Danny

His bile is bright yellow which says he is not right. He went into oxygen tonight at 18:00 when previously it has been an overnight thing. He is constipated and his jejunostomy is leaking alot but no one seem to know what is wrong with him. We have been told so far “this is Daniel” but it isn’t. His secretions are always thick but it hasn’t put him into oxygen all summer. He has never been constipated in his whole life and his jejunostomy has never leaked this much. There is talk of putting his peep up but I know this is not peep related. I don’t know what it is but I know that.
I am worried his diaphragmatic hernia is returning because with the oxygen requirement and the constipation together, I don’t know maybe it means his bowel has moved up as he has never been constipated. It’s either that or he is not getting enough fluid because of the leaking from his stoma. We are left trying to come up with answers ourselves because the consultants don’t discuss anything with us. During this afternoons ward round, the consultant never even made it to Daniels bed space. Everyone has an opinion on what is “normal” for Daniel, even the woman of the patient opposite. We have been with Daniel for 16 months and all we know is, “this is not Daniel”.
