Tigger’s a wonderful thing

Today has seen a few things for our little Danny, he’s been going down on the pressures for his CPAP which is great news. However he has been really sicky today and has been sick quite a few times, which includes once on me and once all over Julies white jumper!! He also had quite a major desat just before we came to bed which meant he needed bagging. Here on the PICU they actually do bagging rather than the “tom thumb” that they used at the City. What was really cool was today I was able to get Danny out for a cuddle which was amazing as I’d not had him out since he first
became ill some 6 weeks ago so I made the most of it as he was out for almost 2 hours. However, when Julie got him out this evening she didn’t get long as he was sick and needed to go back to get sorted out. His feeds have been increase again today by 1ml per hour which means he’s not on 13ml of milk & 2ml of bile. All of the staff on the PICU have been really great with Danny and also with us. We’ve found them to be really friendly and as Danny is the only patient on there this evening he has all of the attention. Hopefully tomorrow he’ll settle down and stop being sick so much but we’ll have to wait and see how he is in the morning, for now he’s had some chloral and has gone to sleep.
