As time goes by things for Danny are starting to slow down a little plus being the NHS things don’t to move too quickly so it becomes more difficult to find something to write on a daily basis. This is why on the odd occasion I may miss a day on posting something up but rest assured when something big comes it’ll be straight up. Anyhow Danny had been pretty settled yesterday so much so that we thought maybe he was moving on from all the illnesses. Although Julie was a little reserved as he was spending all his time sleeping, now we know he is being sedated but this is Danny and he doesn’t tend to take much notice of sedatives. Later on they did an X Ray to see what was going off and found that he had “right sided consolidation” which generally interprets to be pneumonia so it looks like he might have another bout of pneumonia or the left over of the last one to contend with again. So once again he is on anti-biotics to help him fight it off again and try and get him back on track
again. Overnight he didn’t do so good as he chart showed when they looked back through his chart. By morning he decided to do a desat and needed to be Tom Thumbed back up before he would settle down again. Today his CRP (infection count) is down a little from yesterday from 144 to 125 so hopefully the drugs are starting to kick in. He has had another blood transfusion as his hemoglobin count was down a little and while not a major drop it was sufficient for them to arrange the transfusion. Other than that he’s been really settled and to be quite honest he has just slept for most of the day, but he has had chance to enjoy the walnut oil massages that Jules has given him which she assures me he likes as his sats go up. Tomorrow we are scheduled for him to go for his CT scan the results of which will be passed onto Great Ormond Street so that they can review them before he is sent down to them early next week although a date hasn’t been given as yet. So for now we wait very patiently, in the morning we are due to speak with the consultant who wants to discuss what is going to happen with Daniel (the CT scan, the transfer to GOSH and what happens after GOSH) which is going to be bright and early at 8am as I have to be at work just after 9am. Here’s lookin at you kid!
