So where do we start? Firstly it has been a reasonably settled couple of days although we started out the week thinking that we would be moved to Great Ormond Street on Tuesday or Wednesday. But now it looks like we are going next week sometime as GOSH wanted a CT scan doing on Danny and the images sending to them before he travels. Danny’s CRP count (his infection score) is up again which means that he has another infection although they are sitting back to wait and see what happens as he looks well in himself. It could well be that his body is going to fight off the infection by itself so they will leave him and keep a close eye to make sure he does not get poorly
with it. The bile output from his gastrostomy has increased so they will be keeping an eye on this to make sure that it does not continue to increase. A surgeon came to see him today and confirmed that this should be monitored to ensure that it does not increase further and that this is to be replaced with saline (like salty water) so that he does not get dehydrated. His jejinostomy is looking a bit worn as it is white at the start of his stomach which doesn’t usually happen this soon and they usually like to get another couple of weeks out of them before replacing them, so they will be keeping an eye on this too. The physio’s have been around to him again today which he seems to really enjoy but then he’s turning into a bit of a lady’s man, he’s had a girl on each arm….not bad for 102 days old!!! Julie has been busy hassling the nurses to get goodbye messages for Daniel, some have done video messages while others have just had photo’s done, all of which will be shown to Danny so he knows the people that helped and played a major part in getting him well.
