Last night, as we all know, was the Live show Birth Night Live which had our little Danny’s story featured and for those that missed it he was in the Sunday Times too.  One thing that became clear was TV is not glamorous and was really about waiting and waiting.  We arrived at 7pm and then sat waiting ’til we were called in at 9.20pm.  What did happen though was when the professor arrived we had a chance to fill him in on what has happened so far.  The last time we saw him was on the 6th July when he popped Danny’s balloon so there was much to catch up on.  We explained the three operations and the various illnesses that he’s had and also that he once again has pneumonia and to be honest he looked very puzzled with it all.  He seemed to be very concerned that he’d so many problems which he would not have expected to have seen given his great experience with this condition.  We were then called through so we trotted off to the “studio” where we were sat with Gabby and due to the live cesarean taking place as we were due on-air then our time was cut down.  I became a prop as our bit was cut so short the main feature was the professor.  After our few moments on air we were all done and shuffled off to the waiting area.  The professor was very concerned about what Danny had been through and spoke very honestly with us about what his thoughts were for Danny.  He said that with all of the illnesses he has had lately and now having pneumonia again he does not know if Danny will make it.  He then had to rush off back to London as his car had arrived but he gave Julie a hug and a kiss and shook my hand before leaving, but not before giving me his mobile number. So here we are again completely shell shocked and wondering what happened to bring us to the position we are in now.  The future now looks as gloomy as it ever has for me, while you accept that your child if fighting for life when someone as respected as the professor says this to you its very, very frightening.
